Black and White Shouse: Exterior
On the exterior of the house, all of the windows are framed black, and the front door is unlike any that we have seen so far here at shousehomes.com. We are loving the farmhouse X design with the sleek, black style.
There are many unique elements to this exterior. First of all, is the many different roof lines. Having differing elevations and slopes to your roof can add expense, but when it is done right, can add so much curb appeal. This roofline combines multiple shed roof designs attached to a separate gable roof. How interesting! The perfectly placed cupola adds to this roof’s charm.
Another fun element to this exterior is the window sizes and placement. There are many different styles and sizes going on. There is a mixture of smaller windows in a series and also some larger picture windows as well.
Black and White Shouse: Kitchen
Our first stop in the home is this dreamy industrial farmhouse kitchen. The owners bring in an industrial feel with the exposed HVAC ductwork and metal elements like the gold hardware and black metal pendant lights. Chandelier light fixtures and the custom wooden vent hood cover show off the modern farmhouse side of this design aesthetic.
This kitchen offers tons of custom cabinetry and a large island with a wine cooler and an additional oven. We love the stone countertops with speckled, grey veining, a beautiful touch. Notice the stainless steel apron sink with a window and sconce above it. I’m sure this would be a lovely view while washing dishes!
Black and White Shouse: Living Space
Tall ceilings and an open concept make the living room space seem huge! Special light fixtures bring warmth to the space, and a fun front door with glass rectangles ties the room together. There are light oak-colored floors and thick, white trim that flow through the room. Chunky, neutral-colored furniture pieces are accented by large, animal prints for a country, farmhouse feel.
There are multiple dining options in this open-concept space including the eat-in island and a corner with a dining table and chairs. This family will enjoy lots of time together in this area of their home.
Black and White Shouse: Mudroom, Pantry, and Bathrooms
The owners of this amazing shouse bring the black and white theme throughout the home with the addition of black custom cabinetry throughout all of the storage spaces in the home. The mudroom area offers awesome storage opportunities with pull-out drawers, hooks for backpacks and coats, and a place for shoe storage underneath a long and wide, marble-covered bench.
In the pantry area, there are, again, tons of great storage options and large amounts of countertop space for the storage of small appliances. White walls and light oak flooring with lots of interesting variations give a nice contrast to the black cabinetry in these spaces. Gold fixtures and hardware continue as well to bring a high-end look.
The bathrooms show off amazing tile work and selections and continue the black and white theme. The hall bath features a urinal (how unique!) and floor-to-ceiling tile in a geometric pattern.
