Today’s featured barndominium is a beautiful home designed and built by Brandon Mason of Mason Bro’s Construction in Magnolia, Texas. This Texas barndominium has so many things going for it and is so beautifully designed and built. We can’t wait to share it with you so you can get a feel for some of the amazing design touches and the wonderful flow of the floor plan.
Exterior
At first glance, this barndo is clearly meant to have a connection with the outdoors and the surrounding landscape. The large patios and awnings make it perfect for setting up and enjoying a barbecue with friends. There is plenty of cover from the hot Texas sun, so everyone can feel cool and comfortable out in the yard.
The large side patio can also double as a carport to protect vehicles like RVs and boats when they’re not in use. If the owners wanted, though, they could leave this empty and use this area for all kinds of recreational activities. That’s one of the nice things about this Magnolia TX barndominium, it is incredibly versatile and leaves so much open to the owners’ imaginations.
Interior
The outside of this Magnolia TX barndominium is beautiful enough, but once you walk inside, it’s a whole different ball game. The large, open spaces and the tall windows give an excellent view of the outdoors, and there is enough natural light to fill the bright space. The tall, vaulted ceilings are another nice touch that really open up the entire living area.
One thing we are suckers for is sliding barn doors and this Magnolia TX barndominium is chock full of them. They are such a fantastic little design element that not only look classy and modern, but also save space by opening up flat against the wall. We think the barn doors in this barndo are a great touch.
Moving further into the home, it is clear that a lot of thought was put into the kitchen of this home. This is obviously a space that the owners are planning to spend a lot of time in, and it shows in the layout and design. The open concept is a great way for the hosts of a party to stay connected with their guests while still getting work done in the kitchen.
The industrial-style ventilation system and exposed ductwork is an incredibly modern touch in an otherwise homey and country-style home. It works so well with the bright whites and grays of the kitchen and we think it is a perfect addition. On top of that, it is functional and keeps the whole home ventilated and comfortable for everyone.
Stainless steel abounds in this kitchen and it is a great element that gives off a contemporary feel. It is also a very practical choice since it is easy to keep clean, which is important in such a brightly colored home. The darker grays of the cabinetry work so well with the silver so everything ties together perfectly for a complete feel.
One of the things this barndominium is not lacking in is built-in storage space. We love built-ins due to their space saving abilities and general aesthetic. By saving space on shelving, you have so much more room for furniture and other, more exciting furnishings.
Speaking of built-ins, the bedroom features an amazing murphy bed that folds up into another set of built-in shelves. We love all the space-saving features that the designers of this Magnolia TX barndominium have included. A murphy bed is a great way to utilize previously unavailable space and it is done so well here.
One of the things that really stands out in this Magnolia TX barndominium is the small, in-wall fireplace. It is such a fantastic detail that brings up the comfort level in a room just through its presence. Being able to switch it on and off is convenient and it takes up almost no space in the room, making it perfect for a smaller living space like this one.
The polished cement floor is another beautiful choice for a modern look. The colors and patterns that emerge draw the eye downwards and make the entire home look bigger and more grandiose. They also help keep the home cool in the summertime, which is a very important consideration in Texas.
The bathroom in this Magnolia TX barndominium is beautiful and modern, just like the rest of the house. The split double vanity with marble countertops is such a nice touch that is both attractive and functional.
We can’t talk about the bathroom without mentioning the amazing shower. The marble tiles, partial wall, and rainfall shower head are so modern and current and the lighting is absolutely gorgeous. Everything about this bathroom is perfectly designed, just like everything else in this Magnolia TX barndominium and we love the care and thought that has gone into it.
