Indiana Barndominium: Exterior
Sasha Thoen’s Barndo has a black out theme with matching siding, roof, window trim and guttering. Subtle light wood accents on the front door and posts give some contrast; however, the all black exterior is a fun, modern aesthetic. On the back of the house, you can see that the owners chose an all glass garage door instead of opting for a slider or french doors. We are loving the natural light and indoor/outdoor living opportunities this offers. Not pictured is a large pole barn garage space.
Indiana Barndominium: Open Concept Kitchen and Living Area
Entering the kitchen, you will find a super contemporary color scheme and design choices. All black cabinetry is paired with gold pendant lights and a matching gold partial glass door to the laundry room adjacent to the kitchen. We are loving the sealed concrete floors and how they give a very modern industrial feel. The vent hood is also very outside of the box with black shiplap in a rectangular shape.

The kitchen and living room share a large one-room, open concept design where the dining room is directly in between the kitchen and living room. Two large pendant lights hang above the dining space to visually separate the space. One of the amazing features of this room is the black, vaulted ceilings. The glass garage door from the inside is a statement piece in the dining area. We are also loving the over-sized ceiling fan! Every foot of this room is used in a beautiful, thoughtful way.
Indiana Barndominium: Utility Spaces
Off of the kitchen is a hall storage area which houses a pantry with floor-to-ceiling shelving, and an adjacent area for other cleaning supplies and storage. The laundry area is a large room which has a spacious storage closet. The board and batten wall design and beautiful stained-wood door to the back yard complete the airy, bright laundry room.
Indiana Barndominium: Office and Bedrooms
An office space and two bedrooms show off this home’s cohesive, yet quirky design choices. Fun furniture pieces litter all of the rooms and create focal pieces. Double windows in the master bedroom flood the room with natural light, and green closet doors with gold hardware give the guest bedroom some flare. Large area rugs are a great companion for the concrete floors throughout the bedrooms.
