Kansas Barndominium Exterior
One of the first things you’ll notice about this Kansas barndominium is the modern-looking garage doors. The array of small windows that goes down the right side is just quirky enough to be an accent piece, but not outlandish enough to draw the eye away from the rest of the home. These kinds of tasteful touches can really make a home’s facade and they are used to a great effect here. We also absolutely love the ¼ wall of stonework that comes up the front. This addition to the metal of the post-frame structure gives the home an organic feel.
One of the most alluring aspects of the exterior of this Kansas barndominium is the front porch. This grand entryway not only gives the home a welcoming feel, it also provides an extra space for things like barbecues and family get-togethers. We can not get over how beautiful the woodwork is on the ceiling of this porch. Just like the stone on the exterior, it provides a touch of earthy naturalism to the metal of the structure and creates a cozy, cabinesque feeling.
Just like the garage door, the front door features some really elegantly placed windows. These small slit windows are great for breaking up the door itself and giving it a really modern, contemporary feel. They also let in even more natural light, which is incredibly important in a barndominium as much as any other type of home. The two windows that flank the door are another great touch that give this Kansas barndominium its unique style.
Living Area
One of the things this Kansas barndominium has a lot of is individual aesthetics. The interior features a lot of those same small details that make the exterior so special. We love the color scheme here and feel that it gives the living area character without being too over the top. The designers of this barndo were sure to give it enough of a homey, cozy feeling without sacrificing any of that contemporary style.
Kitchen
The kitchen in this Kansas barndominium is so functional and contemporary and is absolutely designed to be used instead of simply admired. One of the first things we noticed about this kitchen was the amazing repurposed light fixture that hangs over the kitchen island. We love the pipe and valve look that was used here and feel that it is a great way to reuse materials and bring the whole room to life with one simple fixture. These are the details that make the entire space pop.
The breakfast bar is adorned with modern retro style stools that are a perfect example of the careful use of unique elements in this Kansas barndominium. When you have these amazingly crafted pieces next to the relatively simple backdrop of the color scheme, you can make the best use out of them and can include them without making them look gaudy. That kind of foresight is exactly what makes this Kansas barndominium special.
One of the things that really shows just how much the designers of this Kansas barndominium thought about function is in the layout of the kitchen. Having this range in the middle of the breakfast bar is a great way to leave open space behind it and add more room for countertops and appliances. Being able to utilize these kinds of ideas are what makes building a barndominium worthwhile.
Bedroom
The bedroom in this Kansas barndominium features an amazingly done color pattern on the wall that creates such a nice accent and really draws the eye where it is supposed to go. We also love the inclusion of a side door for easy access to the outdoors. This would be a great thing to have for getting up in the morning and immediately heading outside for some fresh air and sunshine. We love how this barndo is made for living and not just looking at.
Bathroom
The bathroom is also incredibly well put together and thought out. We love the dark granite countertop that holds the double vessel sinks. These are such great touches and they really make the space feel usable as well as attractive. We also think the high faucets are another great, unique detail that really sum up the style and aesthetic of this entire Kansas barndominium. They are unlike any faucets that we have seen before and that says it all about this home.
